Cantaloupe Banana Smoothie
I woke up this morning feeling extremely lethargic. Note to self: Drink decaf if you don’t want to stay up until 4 in the morning. (Literally staring at the ceiling for hours.) Does anyone have any sleep remedies for those insomnia nights from too much caffeine?
My zombie morning had to start up with a healthy smoothie– Something that can rejuvenate me and make me feel alive. When I feel the least bit of drowsiness, I’ll usually force myself to get a good workout in. My mood and energy completely changes, and I’m a lot more focused on the things I need to do.
There’s nothing better than scavenging all of your summer fruits, and blending them into one drink. Healthy, simple, stress-free, low-calorie. Whenever I have cut-up cantaloupe in the fridge, I immediately create it into something creamy. Add a touch of vanilla and it taste like ice cream. I also added one banana for added sweetness and milk for that creamy goodness. My wonderful Blendtec Blender blends all the ingredients in just 40 seconds. You can also pour this into a popsicle container, and you’ll have yourself cantaloupe creamsicles.
- 2 cups chopped cantaloupe
- 1 banana
- 1/2 cup milk (almond, coconut, skim, etc.)
- 1 tsp vanilla
- Throw ingredients in blender. Blend until smooth.
- Pour in serving glass.
- Drink up!
- Refrigerate cantaloupe before blending so you'll have a nice and cool sweet treat.
