JUNE WEDDING AT CROSSLINE COMMUNITY CHURCH
Mr. Aaron and Mrs. Natalie Truong | May 16, 2015 | Crossline Community Church
Guys, I’m so excited to share with you this blog post. It’s a few months late but better late than never. As you read through this, jam to Dancing in the Moonlight by Toploader. It makes me smile every time.
As many of you know, I had the opportunity to decorate the wedding of my two closest friends: Natalie Poon (Now a Truong!) and Aaron Troung.
Those of you who know Aaron and Natalie know that this couple is so worthy to be celebrated. Their story is so beautiful and such a perfect gift from God. Back in December 2014, soon after Aaron proposed, Nat asked me along with our good friend Grace Fermo to decorate their wedding,… and of course… we said yes!
We began discussing, preparing, and yes, pinning since January. Because we were working with a small budget, we DIY’d everything. From the photobooth to garlands to name cards, you name it. Natalie, Grace, and I did it. Needless to say, it was quite a daunting task to conquer decorating an entire wedding on our own, but we loved every moment of it. Looking back, I’m feeling so thankful to have been a part of this incredible experience of creating this dream wedding for the loveliest couple. But creating this celebration was so much more than just our decorations. It was so successfully put on by Natalie and Aaron’s community. Community is such an important aspect of Aaron and Natalie’s life and what they do, so it was such a blessing to see so many people assist the big day.
To this day, Nat and I still gush about how amazing this whole experience was. She stayed over at my place for a month before the wedding and it was so fun to have friends come over and create pieces together. We spent nights jamming to different songs, practicing walks down the aisle, and dancing to all kinds of hip-hop. Man, I’m feeling nostalgic.
Here are some of my favorite shots from the wedding:
Aaron resides in Portland, Oregon and at the time, Natalie resided in Orange County, California (but is originally from the bay area). These two places are so dear to their hearts because their relationship was long distance. They committed to flying back and forth to each other’s city once a month.
Table covers for the outdoor patio. My best friend Kelly designed these, along with many others. We added verses from scripture too. My favorite one had 1 John 4:19 on it.
